GR 100 Introduction to Geography [CRN 76867]
Overview of Course
Geographers answer the questions, what, where, and why about various features on earth. This course provides the most basic understanding of geography from a regional perspective. Our world is divided into several geographic regions, and we will examine the differences and commonalities within these regions from a physical and cultural perspective. Within a global framework, we will study themes such as climate, terrain, flora, fauna, culture, language, race and ethnicity, economics, politics, popular culture, geospatial technology, environmental issues, and much more. We will also learn essential terms, theories, and definitions in geography, laying the groundwork for some of the fieldwork we conduct during our stops. Students can apply the concepts and tools they learn in this course as they observe and explore various phenomena in different regions during their journey.
