Fall 2024: European, African, and Asian Adventure
ENGR 337 Thermodynamics [CRN 76861]
Overview of Course
This rigorous upper division thermodynamics problem-solving course is designed to meet the academic requirements of typical ABET-approved engineering undergraduate programs. We will cover the first and second laws of thermodynamics, properties of pure substances, analysis of open and closed systems, applications of thermodynamic principles to power and refrigeration cycles. We will apply these principles by analyzing the energy consumption of our voyage, the related carbon footprint of our experience, and what can be done to achieve the global goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 so we and future generations can continue to benefit from global travel.
